“Oh, that hurts. Oh, that hurts.” The man’s voice was coming from the parking lot outside the Chico Amtrak station.
Inside, 10 of us were waiting for the 1:50 a.m. train. With the exception of my college-age daughter and one other woman, we were all at least 55 years old and halfway comatose due to the hour.
