Washington: Infrastructure boosters storm the Hill

STORMING THE HILL: The National Association of Manufacturers and the Associated General Contractors of America are leading a two-day infrastructure lobbying push on Capitol Hill with more than 120 trade groups beginning today, as lawmakers continue to hold hearings and gear up for a spring/summer legislative effort on an infrastructure package. The group has about 50 meetings lined up targeting congressional leadership and members of the authorizing committees. The message: It’s time to stop punting on funding infrastructure needs that both parties want to see met. “If Washington fails to act, our aging infrastructure will impose higher costs and inefficiencies on employers that will serve as a brake on economic growth,” Stephen E. Sandherr, AGC’s CEO, said in a statement.
