U.S., Indiana: Construction begins on $945 Million Northwest Indiana commuter train line

Construction is getting underway on what Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb calls the largest public transit investment in the state’s history.

An eight-mile line will bring commuter train service from Hammond to Dyer, connecting the Northwest Indiana communities to Chicago via the South Shore Line.
