What federal investigators have called a “weak safety culture” at Amtrak is not improving, an incident uncovered by the Jacksonville Business Journal indicates.
Amtrak has suffered a string of safety incidents in recent months that have sparked lawsuits and federal investigations. The incidents come after federal regulators identified systemic problems in Amtrak’s safety culture in 2016, and they fit into Amtrak’s growing accident rate. This most recent incident suggests little has changed at Amtrak.
