Crews are wrapping up work to remove railroad track and ties – some dating back more than a century – to make way for the new passenger rail service to Redlands.
The results of that work have been especially visible in recent weeks at a Church Street lot just south of the 10 Freeway underpass. There, workers have been stacking rail ties that must be removed as part of the 9-mile Redlands Passenger Rail Project that will use clean diesel- and possibly battery-powered trains.
