South Pacific, New Zealand – Northern Explorer: KiwiRail brings back long-distance trains after backlash

New Zealand’s oldest and longest rail service will return for summer after a backlash from local councils.

The Northern Explorer train from Auckland to Wellington, which can trace its roots back to 1909, will return for the summer season after being shut down by KiwiRail on March 22 due to Covid-19.
