Rhinebeck, New York seeks to resolve Amtrak tax dispute so station improvements can be made

RHINEBECK, N.Y. — The town is looking to waive about $63,000 in back taxes owed by Amtrak’s parent company so that improvements to the Rhinecliff train station can be made.

Town Supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia said this week that National Railroad Passenger Corp. can’t get grant funding while the dispute over back taxes is unresolved.
