Odors, long lines, closures plague Los Angeles Union Station bathrooms, so Metro will spend millions to fix them

William Meyers was recovering from a bladder operation when he found himself in a long line outside the eastside men’s room in Union Station. Not able to wait, he quickly walked to the other end of the crowded transit hub and entered the only other public restroom located on the far west side of the building.

“Yeah, I was at the other end of the terminal,” he explained, after exiting the men’s room. The Hawthorne resident was on his way to City of Hope in Duarte for a post-operation checkup via the Gold Line light-rail line, a popular connection at the downtown Los Angeles train station.
