North Carolina: Camp Lejeune Railroad seen as possible engine for economic development

A rail line runs through a narrow path, slicing through farms and forests in Onslow, Carteret and Craven counties – and connecting Jacksonville to Havelock.

If the Onslow County Board of Commissioners and economic development officials wishes are fulfilled, the sound of train whistles and grade crossing bells may soon echo more often through places like Midway Park, Stella, Morris Brothers Road and the Croatan Forest.
