New York City: Life isn’t getting easier for Long Island Rail Road commuters this winter

The “Summer of Hell” is over — but the winter of discontent is coming for some Long Island Rail Road riders.

The commuter rail will have to reroute eight of its weekday rush hour trains – five in the mornings and three in the evenings – so that Amtrak can replace aging tracks at Penn Station, MTA officials announced on Friday.
