Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania rail yards to benefit from share of $32 million in improvements

Pennsylvania has 67 privately run operating railroads, more than any other state, and roughly 5,600 miles of freight line, according to a news release. So it’s little wonder the state would want to keep the rails rolling.

On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Transportation Commission approved $32 million for 27 rail freight improvement projects that that state said will create or help retain more than 400 jobs.
