Illinois: Carbondale leaders reapply for grant to fund downtown multimodal facility

CARBONDALE — In an effort to fund its stalled multimodal project, the city of Carbondale is taking a second shot at securing a $14.64 million grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s competitive Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program.

Last year, the city’s TIGER grant application was denied, and the project has been in limbo ever since.
