High-speed rail study from Canada to Oregon has $1.5 million backing

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – Microsoft, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Washington State Department of Transportation and the Province of British Columbia are studying a possible high-speed rail line that would span the Pacific Northwest.

The Washington State Legislature allocated $750,000 for the study earlier this year. The other three partners announced a match of that funding Thursday, bringing the total funding to $1.5 million.
