Construction has begun on a pedestrian underpass, elevated platforms, new lighting, signs, shelters and other improvements at the Poinsettia Coaster Station in south Carlsbad.
Designed to increase efficiency and accommodate longer trains and more passengers, the work is expected to cost nearly $34 million and take two years to complete, according to the San Diego Association of Governments, or SANDAG, the county’s regional planning agency.
