Buffalo: New York State Department Of Transportation awards $27.7 million contract to tear down existing Amtrak station, build transportation hub

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The New York State Department of Transportation has awarded a $27.7 million contract for a new intermodal transportation hub in downtown Buffalo.

The new Exchange Street Station will be built on the same grounds as the existing 66-year-old Amtrak Station, but will be elevated and moved closer to the street to improve access and visibility, a press release from the NYSDOT said Wednesday.
