WASHINGTON, D.C. (WVNS) – Concerns over Amtrak’s policy regarding private and charter trains continue to get attention at the highest levels. U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) has sent another letter to Amtrak CEO Richard Anderson. The Senator first addressed the issue with Amtrak in April 2018.
According to a release from the Senator’s office, the policies and restrictions are causing trouble for the owner of the New River Train, Collis P Huntington Railroad Historical Society. The train runs between Huntington and Hinton.
