Last week’s meeting of the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors featured a presentation dedicated to promoting passenger rail travel in the New River Valley. Ed Lawhorn, who works as a marketing executive in Blacksburg, made the presentation for a passenger rail advocacy group called New River Valley Rail 2020. The goal of this group, whose members include NRV governments and universities, is to get Amtrak service for residents of the New River Valley.
