Congressman Dan Lipinski, who heads the House subcommittee that has oversight for rail, is asking Amtrak CEO Richard Anderson if will reimburse Metra commuters who were left stranded Feb. 28 by a computer outage.
Lipinski, a Democrat from the Southwest Side, met with Anderson last week in Washington, D.C. He followed up with a letter, asking a number of questions, including: “Does Amtrak contemplate any means or have any procedures for reimbursing those who had to pay out of pocket for their alternate means of commuting home?”
