Once there was a will but not enough money.
Now there’s money but not enough will.
And yet, somehow, the SunRail extension to DeLand still might get built. That’s the takeaway from a July 24 letter from Florida Department of Transportation District 5 Secretary Jared Perdue to the five local partners, including Volusia County, who will eventually take control of the commuter rail’s operation.
