Texas Central, the company behind the High Speed Rail project, reached out to the Daily Sun in response to public comments published following Monday’s Navarro County Commissioner’s Court meeting coverage.
In a statement to the Daily Sun, Texas Central cited the Federal Railroad Administration’s recently released draft environmental report that examined the project’s effect on land values and other issues. That independent report said land values would increase dramatically near the passenger stations and that potential for negative property value impacts elsewhere would be limited because “many of the reasons for decreased property values around other transportation projects, such as noise and vibration impacts, would not apply to the electrified (high-speed rail) design.”
