Spilled grain from a freight train derailment could cause problems for the grizzly bear population in Banff National Park as hibernation season draws to a close.
Canadian Pacific Railway said Thursday that one of its freight trains derailed about 4:40 p.m. Twenty cars — 10 loaded grain cars and 10 empty automobile carrier cars — went off the tracks. Six of the grain cars spilled product.
