WILMINGTON — A group made up of civic leaders, developers and elected officials is the latest to seek the development of the Northside corridor that used to house Wilmington’s passenger rail service, and it is asking the city for support.
“I can get from McRae Street to the Riverwalk without crossing a street. Third Street is going to get busier, Fifth Street’s going to get busier, Fourth Street with the new pavers is going to push traffic to other areas,” Dave Spetrino, the president and CEO of Plantation Building Corp. told city council last week. Spetrino was presenting alongside Rhonda Bellamy, executive director of the Arts Council of Wilmington.
