For some inexplicable reason, Amtrak’s Blue Water train to Chicago is halfway between East Lansing and Battle Creek, when the song “Train Time,” a blues rock tune by the likes of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, known collectively as Cream, comes to mind.
The tune was penned by bassist Bruce and included on the band’s 1968 double-album release, “Wheels of Fire.” It included the hits “White Room,” “Born Under a Bad Sign” and a live version of Willie Dixon’s “Spoonful,” which clocked in at 16 minutes and 47 seconds.
