The provincial government has done away with the North’s passenger train, yet continues to pour millions of dollars into rail services for southern Ontario residents.
That disparity between the two parts of the province was lamented by North Bay city politicians Tuesday as they passed a motion backing a grassroots movement aimed at restoring passenger rail transportation to the North.
