RALEIGH – After several delays, Raleigh’s new $111 million downtown train station is expected to be ready for passengers on June 27, though it’s not clear now whether Amtrak will begin running trains out of the station that day.
Amtrak spokeswoman Kimberly Woods said the railroad is still working to set a date for when it will begin service from the new station. Until then, trains will continue to stop across the tracks at the existing station, off Cabarrus Street.
