NJ Transit is inspecting more concrete retaining walls along its tracks, following problems with a crumbling structure at the Summit station that shed hunks of stone onto the rails below.
Steve Santoro, the agency’s executive director, said Wednesday that inspectors will take a close look at the concrete walls in Newark surrounding the junction of the Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton lines, and near the Montclair Bay Street station. Other concrete walls may need to be inspected and repaired, he said.
