New Jersey Transit trains are plagued by dangerous issues such as exposed wires, fire hazards and broken equipment – part of nearly 800 “observations” made by federal investigators, according to a report Wednesday.
Forty-two percent of the documented “observations” discovered by the US Federal Railroad Administration were for emergency and safety breaches, while 22 percent were for brake issues, according to Bloomberg, which obtained 400 pages of the federal reports through New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act.
