Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) threatened to hold up the nomination of Thelma Drake to helm the FTA Tuesday after accusing her of walking back statements she made to him privately about the Gateway project, our Tanya Snyder writes. “Evidently you’ve been instructed to say something different,” he said during her confirmation hearing at the Senate Banking Committee. Menendez also panned Drake’s responses to questions about transit project ratings and funding. “I personally cannot vote for you if this is going to be your set of answers, nor will I allow on the floor for you to proceed without some clarity,” he said.
