New Jersey’s key location and vast transportation assets—including seaports, airports and highways—make it indispensable for the movement of goods and a key driver of regional economic growth. It also means that heavy traffic and road conditions are a constant battle. In the aftermath of necessary increases in the state’s gas tax since 2016, efforts to improve the quality of our roads and bridges should continue to accelerate.
