BRISTOL, Va. – A final version of the most recent study of bringing passenger rail service to the Twin City has been completed.
Study findings were first unveiled last December, showing a forecast 4.5 percent positive return on investment if Amtrak and the state of Virginia extended intercity service from Roanoke to Bristol. The study was a joint project of the city, the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, USDA and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
