RUSSELL, Ky. — CSX announced Friday morning to employees at its Russell, Kentucky, facility that the company will close the Russell Locomotive Shop and eliminate 113 positions.
“As a result of the locomotive shop closure, 113 positions are being eliminated, and impacted employees were sent home after the announcement,” according to an email from a CSX spokesperson. “Furloughed union employees will be covered by the terms of their collective bargaining agreements and will receive at least 60 days of regular pay and benefits.”
