; February 27, 2018Darin Egert and his brother Curtis planned to haul 10,000 bushels of hard red spring wheat from their Cando-area farm to a nearby elevator in November, but massive delays kept the railway from providing the necessary cars until last week.
As Saskatchewan farmers grow increasingly worried about a grain backlog, Egert said he and his brother are so far behind there could be bags filled with last year’s crop still in the fields west of Saskatoon when they begin seeding in a few months.
