Boston: MBTA boss lauds commuter rail performance during storms despite some delays

Lowell commuter rail line passengers will probably face 25-minute delays during the Friday evening commute because of a storm-damaged signal, and the MBTA’s top leaders are asking commuters to build in extra time as the system continues to recover from two major nor’easters.

Still, MBTA General Manager Luis Ramirez and Deputy General Manager Jeff Gonneville expressed pride at the performance of the T’s subway, bus, ferry, and commuter rail operations in the past seven days, during which tracks flooded, power fizzled, and heavy snow sent branches and power lines onto tracks.
