Matthew Rose will step down as executive chairman and retire from BNSF Railway Co. in April 2019, the Fort Worth-based company announced Wednesday.
Rose, 58, who has been executive chairman for the last six years, served as the railroad’s chief executive officer for 13 years and guided the company’s sale in 2009 to Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
