Amtrak proposes boarding platform, ADA improvements at Martinsburg, West Virginia train station

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Construction of a 440-foot boarding platform at the Caperton Train Station in Martinsburg and other improvements aimed at improving access for disabled Amtrak passengers could begin this spring.

Plans for the 12-foot wide concrete platform, along with signage, lighting, a wheelchair-lift enclosure and other changes proposed by Amtrak are set to be reviewed next month by the Martinsburg Historic Preservation Review Commission.
