At Amtrak, we are committed to improving Penn Station with significant annual capital investments. Penn Station users want reliable service — and that requires regular reconstruction on the track systems. You want us to continually renew the NYPS infrastructure and track so that you are not subject to unscheduled breakdowns, delays and cancellations. 
In order for Amtrak to operate Penn Station safely and reliably for the 650,000 trips that depend upon it and related infrastructure, the infrastructure of the station and the tracks must be maintained and regularly rebuilt.
