Following up on its earlier announcement that it would add a second Northeast Regional train to travel between Hampton Roads and Washington, D.C., Amtrak said it will pick up passengers at 9 a.m. in Norfolk and drop them off in the nation’s capital by 1:27 p.m.
Amtrak resumed routes to Norfolk in 2012. Until March 4, when the 9 a.m. ride is scheduled to start, the only option for passengers looking to travel via rail to cities along East Coast including D.C., Philadelphia and New York was a train leaving Monday through Friday at 6:15 a.m.
