HORNELL — Towering booms and cranes swung steel tonnage into place over the Canisteo River on Friday.
On Friday morning, the first girders for a railroad bridge over the river were placed by contractors. The finished product will carry trains traveling upwards of 200 miles an hour past Alstom’s manufacturing facility in Hornell in just a matter of months.
