CALGARY—Alberta wildlife and conservation groups are raising concerns about the possibility of passenger rail between Calgary and Banff, saying it may pose a danger to animals in the area.
A feasibility study released Feb. 27 looked at the potential for bus and rail systems between Calgary and the Rockies, and found it would be possible if subsidized. No wildlife organizations are named on the list of stakeholders for the study, but Parks Canada and Sustainable Alberta were both consulted as stakeholders alongside municipalities and tourism groups.
