Worcester is in the midst of a boom – you might even call us the new “it” town, one with an economic development story that rivals many across America. This success did not happen overnight. It’s the product of many factors, like our business and workforce recruitment and cultivation of an innovation economy.
Underpinning these strategies – and any booming economy – is transportation accessibility, both for people and goods. Unfortunately, this remains a point of vulnerability. A recent study found that Massachusetts has the ninth worst infrastructure in the US, noting that 42 percent of our roads are in poor or mediocre condition.
