CSX has responded to the Surface Transportation Board’s March 16 blanket letter requesting information on the Class I railroad 2018 service outlook.
In a March 28 letter to Chairman Ann Begeman and Vice Chairman Deb Miller, CSX President and CEO Jim Foote thanked the STB’s recent recognition of the railroad’s “marked improvement” in its service metrics. “Since the initial implementation of our scheduled railroad model, our dedicated workforce has delivered six months of service improvement based on key metrics,” Foote said. “Our recent performance is above 2017 averages, and we’ve achieved record levels for velocity, car order fulfillment and dwell.”
