Grand Central Rail boss Richard McClean tells Parliamentary Correspondent Patrick Daly why he thinks his plan to run trains from London to Cleethorpes could be a success.
Given that British Rail scrapped the Kings Cross to Cleethorpes train in 1992, there will be a sizeable chunk of the population who cannot remember the golden days of a direct service to the Capital.
But Grand Central Rail boss Richard McClean remembers it fondly – he used the old line when still a whippersnapper engineer, having been sent to Cleethorpes to repair a train back in 1984.
