When you factor in security screenings, cramped seats, and armrest wars, sometimes choosing train over plane is the way to go. Whether you’re getting from Point A to Point B or taking a round-trip joyride, a train journey, with its countryside views, slower pace, and more room to spread out, is one of the most enjoyable ways to travel. This is no throwback to the so-called Golden Age of travel either. There are plenty of train rides out there today that have us clamoring for a ticket (like the soon-to-launch London to Amsterdam route on Eurostar). Here, a few of the best train trips across Europe.
