SunRail’s struggles are mounting as more employees work at home, gas prices stay low, the I-4 overhaul nears completion and uncertainties grow for how to finance critically needed expansions of the commuter train.
“We do have a changing dynamic,” said Jared Perdue, the state Department of Transportation secretary for Central Florida. “There are a lot of discussions right now about the pandemic and the effect it has had on traffic patterns and demands, and behaviors and teleworking, and how it’s going to impact the future.”
