CLAREMONT — New legislation that seeks to expand financing for railroad projects sponsored by New Hampshire’s congressional delegates could open funding opportunities to grow passenger train ridership in Claremont.
New Hampshire Reps. Annie Kuster and Chris Pappas along with Pennsylvania Rep. Lloyd Smucker have co-sponsored bipartisan legislation, H.R. 5947, Invest in American Railroads Act, which would provide funds to states, local governments and private groups to upgrade their existing rail infrastructure and develop new lines and facilities.
