As California plods along with planning for an intra-state high-speed rail network – including an ongoing fight with the Trump Administration over federal funding – the Pacific Northwest is working on its own project that could allow super-fast trains to zip from Portland to Seattle in an hour, and from Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia in even less time, according to a new report.
Issued this month by the Washington State Department of Transportation, the report lays out a business case for developing what it calls Ultra-High Speed Ground Transportation (UHSGT) for the fast-growing Cascadia Corridor (Vancouver-Seattle-Portland).
