Wisconsin Department Of Transportation aims to double frequency of Amtrak service through state

PORTAGE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s plan to increase regional Amtrak service is gaining steam.

According to DOT Passenger Rail Manager Arun Rao, the project would see a second round-trip passenger train paralleling the Empire Builder corridor, serving seven Wisconsin and connecting them to the Twin Cities and Chicago. The proposed train has been dubbed the “TCMC”.
