Virginia approves $300,000 in funding for Bedford rail study

Plans to make Bedford a scheduled stop for Amtrak trains travelling between Lynchburg and Roanoke still are on track following a state board’s decision to pay for a study on a Bedford stop.

During its June 19 meeting, Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board approved $300,000 to conduct a planning study on adding a train platform in Bedford.
