Bipartisan bills have been introduced in the Minnesota Legislature to provide funding for the MnDOT Passenger Rail Plan, which expands state Amtrak service inter-connecting the metro and 30 outstate cities. The plan utilizes private-public partnerships to expand conventional-speed passenger service, running over existing commercial tracks.
