Massachusetts: Actual cost of 6-inch fix for Springfield’s Union Station platform expected to be known soon

SPRINGFIELD — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Amtrak are finalizing plans to widen train Platform C at Springfield’s Union Station and link the renovated space to the main hall with an elevator.

A schedule for the project should be available by the end of this year. The final cost will be determined once MassDOT gets bids back from prospective contractors, said Kevin Kennedy, Springfield’s chief development officer.
